This is a large Apophyllite on Chalcedony Crystal Cluster from India with a seamlessly bonded skull thats been carved from Aluminum Ore.
This Aluminum skull has its own unique features, he wears a lava like mohawk on his head… thus his name Metal Warrior . He sits on a crystal bed of perfection. Together their beautiful ombre shades of grey flow in and out of each other as if they were made to exist as one.
In ESW s signature style, Metal Warrior s head dress has been accented with a little air plant on the right top side of his hawk, displaying a softer, more earthy side to this rock metal design. (Plant can be removed if desired.)
Apophyllite specimens are found in ancient lava and basalt flows. The crystals grow in the now solid cavities, called amygdules or vesicles, formed by air bubbles when the rock was molten. Apophyllite is also found in the voids in the contact metamorphic zone limestones that surround intrusive rocks.
Chalcedony is not scientifically its own mineral species, but rather a form of Quartz in microcrystalline form. However, the name is an old name, and almost all mineral reference guides and collectors distinguish Chalcedony separately from Quartz.
